Counselling for NEET PG 2020 Postponed Amid COVID-19 Outbreak

NEET PG All India Counselling Schedule has been postponed by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

NEET PG All India Counselling Schedule has been postponed by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The first round of counselling which was supposed to be concluded on March 22 was extended yesterday. The authorities have postponed counselling process in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.

The locking process and choice-filling will end on March 24. MCC will organise processing of seat allotment on March 25 and March 26 and results will be announced on March 27, 2020. However, admission process including reporting to assigned colleges is postponed. The second and mop-up round of counselling has also been withdrawn.

MCC is the governing authority for counselling of candidates qualified in NEET PG and NEET MDS. While NEET MDS is held to choose students for MDS courses, NEET PG is conducted for admission in MD, MS, and Diploma courses. MCC also holds counselling for 50 percent quota seats across India.

The counselling bodies of respective states conduct counselling process for rest of seats that fall under state quota. Earlier, results of both NEET MDS and NEET PG were released in January this year. In February, National Board of Examination (NBE), released all India ranks for students who qualified the exams.
