Alternative Academic Calendar for Higher Secondary Launched by HRD Ministry

The aim of this calendar is to provide standardised content for students across the country even during lockdown.

An alternative calendar for higher secondary classes was launched by union HRD minister which NCERT has developed. “This calendar directs teachers on the use of various technological tools/social media tools to educate students while they are at home,” stated the minister on Twitter while launching the calendar.

The link for video programme, audiobooks, and radio programmes are also included for differently-abled students. “This will empower our students, teachers, school principals, and parents to find out positive ways to deal with coronavirus using on-line teaching-learning resources and help in the attainment of learning outcomes,” the minister added.

Earlier, NCERT had published the calendar for classes below tenth. The week-wise plans of all subjects will also be a part of the calendar. It would be disseminated through DTH channels and also through video conferencing with Directorates of Education, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, SCERTs, State School Education Boards, CBSE etc.

The aim of this calendar is to provide standardised content for students across the country even during lockdown. The educational institutions across the country have been shut down since mid-march. The re-opening of schools would also not happen anytime soon. HRD Minister had informed earlier that NCERT is planning to re-open schools.
